Penetration Testing

If someone tried to breach your network today, how far would they get?

The only way to know is to try. That's what penetration testing is.

Three test types, all included: external, internal, and web application.

🌍

External Penetration Test

We attack your perimeter from the outside, the way a threat actor would. Firewall rules, exposed services, authentication portals, and anything else visible from the internet.

🏢

Internal Penetration Test

We simulate an insider threat or a compromised account: once someone is inside your network, how far can they go? We test how far an attacker can move from system to system and how much access they can gain.

🖥️

Web Application Test

Your web applications and customer-facing portals are a common entry point for attackers. We test for the most common and most exploited classes of web application vulnerability.

Not a 200-page report. A briefing.

Penetration test findings are delivered through your Monthly Security Briefing: what was found, how it could be exploited, what to fix first, and when we'll retest to confirm. No binders, no raw scanner exports.

Pen testing: what people ask.

What is penetration testing?
Penetration testing is a controlled attack simulation: our team tries to breach your environment using the same techniques a real attacker would. The goal is to find the ways in before someone else does.
How often does GRCDefense® run penetration tests?
Scheduled pen tests typically run annually or semi-annually, depending on your risk profile and regulatory requirements. We also offer on-demand testing for point-in-time needs: change management, a new application going live, a post-incident review, or any time you need a current read on a specific scope.
What types of penetration tests are included?
GRCDefense® conducts three types: external tests (attacking your perimeter from the outside the way a real attacker would), internal tests (simulating a compromised account or insider threat to see how far someone gets once they're inside), and web application tests (targeting your customer-facing applications and portals).
What do I get from a penetration test?
Findings are delivered through your Monthly Security Briefing in plain English, not a 200-page technical report. Each finding includes what was found, how it could be exploited, and what to do about it. We also provide a retest to confirm remediation.
What's the difference between a pen test and vulnerability management?
Vulnerability management means ongoing scanning for known vulnerabilities in your environment. A penetration test is a time-boxed, human-led attack simulation that looks for exploitable combinations of vulnerabilities, not just individual findings. They're complementary, not interchangeable.
Will the penetration test impact our operations?
We coordinate timing and scope with your IT team before any testing begins. External tests are typically low-impact; internal tests are coordinated around business hours and critical systems.

Find out what an attacker would find.

A penetration test tells you what your vulnerability scanner doesn't: whether those findings are actually exploitable, and how far an attacker would get if they were.
